Every creator owns more IP than they realize and protects less than they should. Week 5 is the catalog: every song, beat, photo, video, brand, slogan, course outline, business name.
Copyright attaches automatically the moment you fix work in tangible form. But registration is what gets you statutory damages and attorney fees in court. Most members have hundreds of unregistered works. We don't fix that this week — we count it. Knowing the count is what builds the urgency to register.
Build your IP catalog: list every song/beat/script/video/course/photo set you've ever created, with copyright registration status (registered: y/n) and trademark/brand assets you use. Use the template in your member dashboard.
Format: Spreadsheet with at least 20 line items
Once Cohort 1 starts, your member dashboard accepts file uploads against this artifact slot. Until then, save the file locally and email it to cohort@culturesilicon.com with subject line Pre-Cohort W5 · IP Catalog v1.
“How much of your catalog is registered with the Copyright Office? That number is the gap between owning it and being able to defend it.”
Bring your answer to Cohort 1, Day 1. We open with everyone's 12 prompts.
The doctrinal spine. The choice between renting your hours and selling rights to your mind.
When you walk into a room, you're either signing a W-9 or licensing your thoughts. We teach you to do the second.
