Optionality (Nassim Taleb)
Having options without obligation to exercise them is one of the most valuable positions in any domain. The brain's prefrontal cortex assigns disproportionately high value to flexibility and future choice. Stems preserve maximum optionality -- every stem file is a future remix, sync placement, sample pack, or reinterpretation waiting to happen. The value of optionality increases over time as new opportunities emerge.
