This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Culture Silicon LLC, a California limited liability company ("Culture Silicon," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards Personal Information when you visit culturesilicon.com or use our services (the "Services").
We collect as little data as possible. We never sell your data. We never share your data with third parties for advertising. The Red Flag Scanner processes everything on YOUR device — we never see your documents.
We share Personal Information with the following service providers operating as "service providers" under the CCPA and "processors" under GDPR, each contractually bound to process data only on our documented instructions:
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: (i) know what Personal Information we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share; (ii) delete Personal Information we collect from you; (iii) correct inaccurate Personal Information; (iv) opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information; (v) limit the use of sensitive Personal Information; (vi) non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
We do not sell or share Personal Information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. To exercise any right, email privacy@culturesilicon.com or use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link. We will verify your identity using the email associated with your account before fulfilling deletion or access requests. You may designate an authorized agent. We will respond within 45 days as required by Cal. Civ. Code §1798.130.
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our lawful bases for processing are: (i) performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) for account creation, course enrollment, and payment fulfillment; (ii) legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) for security, fraud prevention, and aggregate analytics; (iii) consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for marketing emails.
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Cross-border transfers from the EEA to the United States rely on Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated into our processor agreements with Stripe, Supabase, and Vercel.

Culture Silicon Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us Personal Information, please contact privacy@culturesilicon.com and we will delete it. Users between 13 and 17:account creation requires affirmation that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed this Policy and consents to the processing of the minor's Personal Information for educational purposes. We do not engage in targeted advertising to minors and do not profile minors as defined by the California Age-Appropriate Design Code (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.99.28 et seq.).

Data is stored securely on servers within the United States. We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. We retain account and learning-progress data for the life of your account plus 24 months after a deletion request, except where a longer period is required by law.
